THE POSITION: The General Maintenance Engineer is responsible for leading and performing advanced skilled maintenance tasks to repair buildings, equipment, and machinery. This includes leading projects, overseeing other maintenance staff, and performing more complex alterations, fabrications, and constructions. This job reports to Assigned Administrator.LOCATION: 313 W. Winton Ave. Hayward, CA 94544 TYPICAL DUTIES: Carpentry - Carry out complex carpentry work, including framing, cabinetry, trim, and finish carpentry. Install, repair, and maintain doors, windows, flooring, ceilings, and other building components. Construct and repair structures per building codes, blueprints, and project specifications. Electrical - Perform electrical duties as required, including but not limited to installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring and equipment. Relamp and replace small electrical fixtures, fuses, light switches, and outlets. Plumbing Installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing fixtures, heating systems, and piped Utilities. Mechanical - Perform metal fabrication techniques including gas and arc welding, soldering, and brazing. Assist contractor HVAC mechanics with related equipment repair and service. Building Maintenance - Repair windows, blinds, doors, gutters, drains, shelving, and other building hardware. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.Experience: Eight (8) years of general construction experience with progressive responsibilities, proficiency in a minimum of two (2) of the trades listed, journeyman trade level experience desired.Equivalency: Equivalent combination of education and experience.APPLICATION DEADLINE: Thursday, July 24, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS: The EdJoin Online Application and materials must be received by the final application filling date.
