Position Summary: To contribute to the school environment's efficient operation, cleanliness, and safety.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Vacuum and sweep classrooms and hallway floors, and remove staples from carpet in designated areas.
- Arrange desks and chairs in an orderly fashion.
- Empties trash containers in designated classrooms.
- Empties trash containers in hallways in designated classrooms.
- Wipe windowsills and chalk ledges in classrooms.
- Checks and locks all doors and windows and turns off lights.
- Assists in setting up and taking down gym chairs, tables, and other equipment, as necessary.
- Cleans mirrors, fountains, toilets, sinks, fixtures, and sanitary napkin holders in designated washrooms and mops floors.
- Maintains a supply of soap, toilet tissue, and towels in washrooms.
- Refer special cleaning requests to the building director for approval.
- Wet-mop entrances, hallways, and stairs, where applicable.
- Reports needed repairs to the Director of Building and Grounds (e.g., broken screens, light switches, ballasts, toilets, sinks, doors, etc.).
- Performs floor care maintenance as assigned, such as buffing, shampooing, stripping, and waxing.
- Experience with ground maintenance, including lawn care, trimming, and seasonal upkeep.
- Ability to safely operate snow removal equipment such as salt spreaders, snow blowers, and plows during inclement weather.
- Checks and cleans the gym stage, bleachers, under bleachers, wet mops, etc.
- Dust and wipe the desks and shelves in the office.
- Cleans classroom door windows and entrance door windows. Close and dust the tops of the lockers.
- Report outside building disturbances immediately to the Building Director.
- Maintains the building for injury prevention.
- Displays a pleasant, businesslike demeanor in all interactions with students, parents, staff, and community members.
- Observe and follow all District policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Attend required certification and professional development courses as outlined by the District.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: In accordance with the LSSA negotiated Agreement
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and building automation systems.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Valid Illinois drivers license.
- Ability to lift, carry, or move heavy objects as needed.
Work Schedule & Compensation:
- Hours: 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
- Workdays: Aligned with the Lindop School District 92 academic calendar
- Pay Rate: Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. Complete the benefits package according to the District policies, Illinois regulations, and the LLSA Contract.

- Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions

The employee is frequently required to interact with the other staff. The employee is directly responsible for the safety and well-being of students.
