Pantry Cook with baking skills

JOB SUMMARY
The pantry cook has responsibility for assisting with meal preparation and assigned kitchen duties. Work hours/days vary as dictated by business needs and may include weekends and holidays.
JOB DUTIES
Plan and prepare various food items and meals following proper food handling and safety guidelines.
Maintain clean work area, practicing clean as you go policy.
Assist with quality and presentation issues, cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and the restaurant when necessary.
Maintain sanitation and safety standards with anyone entering the kitchen area.
Typical shift runs 5:30 a.m. 1:30 p.m.
Typical day as follows:
o Shift starts at 5:30 a.m.
o Assist the pantry cook
o Clean up out front (cafeteria) and stock items.
o Make coffee for 160+ people.
o Put cut fruit out at 7:00 a.m. and pick-up at 8:15 a.m.
o Clean and put-away dishes used during breakfast
o Cut fresh fruit for the following day
o Work on salad line and dessert for lunch. (There is a 6 bar and 12 bar salad line)
o Must have knowledge how to make different salads, toppings for salads, bake and make desserts: brownies, cakes, muffins...
o Lunch is for 180 people, put out at 11:45 a.m. and picked up at 1:00 p.m.
o Clean up and stock the front again.
o Must be able to lift more than 30lbs and be able to go up and down stairs
o Shift ends at 1:30 p.m.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High school graduate or equivalent.
Minimum one-year hospitality or restaurant food service experience required.
Able to work with little or no supervision.
Read, write, and verbally communicate effectively and professionally with other business departments, guests, and vendors. Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people, while exhibiting a consistent level of professionalism.
