Job Summary and Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs a variety of environmental services functions using electrical and non-electrical equipment in assigned facility areas. Performs set up for functions and cleans up after functions as directed. May collect and dispose of trash. Performs Environmental Services Technician I duties as needed which includes cleaning assigned public areas, patient rooms, ancillary rooms, operating and exam rooms, office areas, and other areas according to established departmental policies and procedures.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the direct supervision of the Director Environmental Services and within established Catholic Medical Center and departmental policies and procedures, the incumbent performs the following essential functions:

  1. Completes the seven steps of cleaning procedure for assigned areas including: trash removal, high dusting, damp disinfecting, dry mopping, bathroom cleaning, wet mopping and inspection.

  1. Refills and replenishes soap, toilet paper, paper towel and paper cup dispensers.

  1. Cleans walls, windows, vents, blinds and stairwells.

  1. Removes, hangs and re hooks window and cubical curtains.

  1. Cleans hard surface floors using hand tools, automatic floor scrubbing machines, buffers and wet vacuums.

  1. Cleans carpeted surface floors using hand tools, rotary shampooers, extractors and spot cleaning methods.

  1. Cleans upholstered furniture using vacuums, extractors and upholstery machines.
