**Job Summary:**\
The Cook I is responsible for ensuring a safe, sanitary environment in
the facility\'s kitchen. Ensures menus are posted and the food is
prepared in time for the service of residents. Food must be served in
compliance with the Statement of Work.
**Job Responsibilities:**\
**The Cook I: shall assume the following job responsibilities:**\
Maintain the kitchen in a manner expected by the Bureau of Prisons.\
Must be able to lift at least 20 lbs.\
Mopping the dining room and kitchen\
Cleaning walls as needed\
Ensuring that the dining room and tables & chairs are clean\
Log any variance between established menus and actual meals.\
Place and receive orders, and organize when needed\
Ensure that food is properly stored daily.\
Verify the refrigerator temperature complies with regulations.\
Prepare and cook each meal attractively and professionally, providing a
balanced meal for each resident.\
Comply with federal, state, and local health and sanitation codes.\
Local travel may be required.\
Complete all annual training required by the contract.\
Complies with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.\
Report any violation of company policy, employee handbook, Standards of
Conduct, etc.\
Assume and perform other duties as assigned.
