Receptionist for Outpatient Therapy
Full Time | Days: 8am - 4:30pm
** Pay rate $16-$17.25/hour **

What will I do as an Outpatient Therapy Receptionist for The Wesley Community?
+ The primary purpose of your job position is to perform secretarial, scheduling and recordkeeping functions to meet the needs of the Outpatient Therapy Department in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, and as directed by the Director of Outpatient Therapy, to assure that the proper administrative procedures are maintained at all times.
+ Schedule patients in a timely manner.
+ Collect patient co-pays in a timely and accurate manner.
+ Assist the Director of Outpatient Therapy in the planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the department's programs and activities.
+ Interpret the facility's therapy policies and procedures to employees, patients, family members, visitors, government agencies, etc., as directed by the Director of Outpatient Therapy.
+ Process patient charts.
+ Assist in the establishment of an adequate filing system; perform all departmental typing, filing, and photocopying.
+ Release information in accordance with established policies and procedures.
+ Assure that the office is maintained in a clean and safe manner and that necessary equipment and supplies are maintained to perform required duties; order office supplies as needed.
+ Get accurate insurance approval for each patient in a timely manner.
+ Adjust schedules as needed if a therapist calls in, for a snow day or other unexpected changes.
+ Assist in standardizing the methods in which work will be accomplished.
+ Work with the facility's consultants as necessary and implement recommended changes as required.
+ Schedule appointments, answer phones, take messages, etc. Keep the Director of Therapy advised of meetings, appointments, as necessary.
+ Pick up and deposit departmental mail daily.
+ Respond to inquiries in a courteous manner. Refer to appropriate staff personnel as required.
+ Proofread and correct letters, drafts, reports, etc. for grammar, punctuation, spelling, etc.
+ Prepare, update and file forms, schedules and registrations.
+ Other related duties and responsibilities that may become necessary or as directed by the Director of Outpatient Therapy.
+ Monitor the Hawthorn Entrance, ensuring access for appropriate staff and Outpatient clients only. Direct Nursing home visitors, vendors, etc to other appropriate entrances on campus, to ensure campus safety.
+ Assist patients in/out of the clinic (holding doors, wheeling wheelchairs, carrying coats/ bags, etc).
+ Additional Committee, Safety, Equipment and Supply functions as needed.
Outpatient Therapy Receptionist Requirements :
+ High school diploma or equivalency.
+ Customer Service training is preferable.
+ Experience in a medical facility is desirable.
+ Experience with computers/word processing preferred.
+ Should possess a working knowledge of computers, calculators, system applications and other equipment.
