Cashier - Dining Services

North Yarmouth Academy is seeking a positive and motivated individual to join our Dining Services team as a cashier . This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about serving children and contributing to the vibrant NYA community. The cashier plays a key role in ensuring smooth and efficient dining operations and maintaining a welcoming environment for students and staff. This position reports to the Dining Services Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and manage the schools Point of Sale (POS) system , including making real-time adjustments and updates during dining services.
• Provide friendly and efficient customer service to students, faculty, and staff.
• Assist in restocking hot and cold line items during meal service to ensure consistent availability.
• Re-stock the schools marketplace before and after dining services, maintaining cleanliness and organization.
• Support the kitchen team with basic food preparation tasks as needed.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment in accordance with health and safety standards.

Qualifications:

• A positive attitude and a strong desire to support children and the NYA community.
• A willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer skills and comfort with learning POS software.
• Previous experience in food service or retail is a plus but not required.

Schedule:

• Monday Friday 7:00 a.m. 3:00 p.m.
