Schedule: Monday Friday, 5:00 AM to approximately 12:00 PM
Pay: $25/hour
Start Date: ASAP through the end of summer
Job Description:
As the Head Cook, you will oversee the preparation and packaging of breakfast, lunch, and snack for approximately 600 children daily. Meals are simple and standardized, with hot meals prepared 3 days per week.
Responsibilities include:
Lead and coordinate a small kitchen team
Oversee daily production of ~600 meals
Handle hot meal prep (3x/week basic bulk cooking)
Maintain food safety and cleanliness standards
Ensure USDA Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) compliance
Keep accurate temperature logs and meal production records
Manage prep timelines and kitchen flow
Requirements:
Experience as a cook, lead prep cook, or kitchen supervisor
Familiarity with batch cooking, school meals, or institutional food service a plus
Ability to lift 50 lbs and work efficiently on your feet
Valid ServSafe or Food Manager Certificate
Strong organizational and leadership skills
Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
