We are looking for a Prep Cook to join our team that thrives on bringing health and pleasure to our customers through meals made with love.
Job Description
At The Cottage Grocery, our Prep Cooks enjoy collaborating with a tight-knit Kitchen Staff to prepare a variety of fresh, original salads, dressings, and our beloved Lunchbox items! Prep Cooks are also responsible for crafting sandwiches and preparing ingredients to help fulfill pantry items and orders. This position reports to our Kitchen Manager.
Responsibilities
Preparing hot and cold ingredients, operating cutting tools and kitchen utensils, and operating ovens and other prep equipment.
Prepare food for sandwiches and salads, including cutting lunch meats and vegetables, and making dressings according to our recipes or customer requests.
Ensuring the quality and presentation of food items.
Packaging and labeling products according to Cottage Grocery guidelines.
Maintaining cleanliness andanization in the kitchen, regularly wiping down work station, andplying with sanitation regulations. Note our Kitchen Staff includes a dishwasher responsible for washing cooking equipment and utensils!
Monitoring inventory and supplies and informing our Porters or KM when supplies are needed.
Contribute to the team environment bypleting other tasks as required.
Qualifications
Valid Food Handlers License (Company will pay for License and continued maintenance).
Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy ingredients and equipment, and work in a hot environment.
Passion for cooking and willingness to learn andply with new recipes.
Ability to multitask efficiently and work in a fast paced environment.
Previous experience working in amercial kitchen is a plus!
