General Maintenance Worker

Performs a wide variety of maintenance and construction duties in housing residence halls and rental units as directed by the Housing Maintenace Manager through the work order system. This may consist of remodeling, install and repair doors, inspect and repair roofs, plumbing/train and regular maintenance of housing facilities.

  • An Associate's degree OR any combination of education and experience in general maintenance totaling 4-years.
  • Know the State, County and ADA codes.
  • Have the knowledge to read and understand blueprints.
  • Know the policies of Snow College.
  • Maintain, repair and know the proper use of tools and equipment.
  • Take orally and written direction.
  • Have the skills to use or operate all types of hand and power tools.
  • Work with other departments on campus.
  • Know the maters and methods and the appropriate tools to construct objects, structures and/or buildings.
  • Ability to climb ladders, frequent bending, kneeling, stooping and standing for long periods of time.
  • Be able to lift 50-90LBS Be able to organize your time.
  • Be able to recognize when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
  • General Maintenance on housing buildings including plumbing, carpentry and basic electrical.
  • Repairs and installs carpet, Formica, wood, flooring, ceramic and resilient tile or any other floor projects.
  • Repairs and refinishes cabinets, and countertops.
  • Will inspect and repair all different types of roof systems.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
