Summary:
The Receptionist for the Davidson Cornerstone program serves as the first point of contact for youth, parents, visitors, and community members. This position plays a vital role in creating a welcoming, organized, and safe environment within the community center. The Receptionist will manage the front desk, support administrative tasks, and assist with program communication and data entry, ensuring smooth daily operations in accordance with DYCD and organizational guidelines.
Operates multiline telephone system to answer incoming calls and directs callers to appropriate personnel. Answer inquiries from current and prospective tenants. Performs clerical and administrative duties as outlined.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Retrieves messages from voice mail and forwards to appropriate personnel.
- Answers incoming telephone calls, determine the purpose of callers, and forwards calls to appropriate personnel or department.
- Welcomes on-site visitors, determines the nature of business, and announces visitors to appropriate personnel.
- Receiving and maintaining office supplies, marketing material and pantry supplies.
- Receives, sorts, and distributes mail.
- Maintain files in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Maintains fax machines, assists users, sends faxes, and retrieves and routes incoming faxes.
- Creates and prints fax cover sheets, memos, correspondence, reports, and other documents when necessary and as directed by management.
- Performs other clerical duties as needed and assigned, such as filing, photocopying, and collating
- Maintain updated bulletin boards, flyers, and program schedules in the reception area.
- Assist with preparing materials for events, trips, and workshops.
- Support communication between staff, parents, and the community as needed.
- Always follow confidentiality and child safety protocols.
- Report any safety or behavioral concerns to the Director, Assistant Director immediately.
- Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Prior experience in a receptionist, administrative, or youth program setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; bilingual (English/Spanish or other) a plus.
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office
- Ability to multi-task, stay organized, and work in a fast-paced community environment.
- Professional demeanor with a commitment to customer service and youth development values.
- Must be punctual, dependable, and able to maintain a positive attitude.
Language Skills:
• Bi-lingual Spanish preferred
Computer Skills
• Prefer candidate have basic computer knowledge.
