The primary responsibility of the Groundskeeper is to maintain the appearance, safety, and functionality of outdoor areas and grounds across Bridgewater Retirement Community (BRC) campus. This includes lawn care, snow removal, preventive equipment maintenance, and assistance with special setups and repairs.
Essential Functions
An individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.??
- Perform lawn maintenance, trimming, edging, mulching, and basic landscaping
- Remove snow from sidewalks, roads, resident driveways, and parking areas
- Maintain and perform minor repairs on vehicles, mowers, tractors, and other grounds equipment
- Fuel community vehicles and operate heavy machinery as needed
- Set up tables, chairs, and other equipment for campus events
- Apply insecticides and perform seasonal grounds care duties
- Report hazards, equipment issues, and accidents
- Assist Building Maintenance team as needed
- Support onboarding and training of new team members
- Must treat residents, family, guests, and coworkers with kindness, respect, and demonstrate excellent customer service
- Accept and complete all assignments in a cooperative manner and hold yourself accountable for achieving results
- Comply with all facility policies and procedures including but not limited to attendance, dress code, and code of conduct
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school graduate, GED required
- 1-2 years of groundskeeping experience
- Knowledge of small engine repair
- Valid Driver's license
- Applicants must be at least 16 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
- Neat and professional appearance with good hygiene practices
- Must be able to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions while working independently
