TMC Transportation has an immediate full-time opening for a Groundskeeper working out of our office in Des Moines, Iowa.
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The primary function of a Groundskeeper is to maintain grounds of company property, whether it be industrial, commercial, or public property.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Trim and edge around walks, flower beds, and walls
Clean grounds and remove litter
Rake and bag or burns leaves
Spray lawn, shrubs, and trees with fertilizer, herbicides, and insecticides
Prune shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth or remove damaged leaves, branches, or twigs
Repair fences, gates, walls, and walks
Make minor repairs on equipment such as lawn mower, spreader, and snow removal equipment
Make minor repairs to and maintains building areas
Assists office departments with moving and storage of documents and equipment
Sharpen tools such as weed cutters, edging tools, and shears
Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or GED (General Education Degree), and/or one to three months related experience or training
Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform to essential functions
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Must be able to work in inclement weather conditions
Must be able to lift, climb, kneel, walk, and stand for long periods of times
