Job Details

The Server is an integral part of the dining team and is an ambassador of CORE: food and service culture. This position is responsible for a specific station and will be present on the floor, guiding our Members and guests through their meal with warm and attentive hospitality. They exude passion and command knowledge about our food, wine, and service.

Primary Role & Responsibilities

  • Happy to go above and beyond, to do more than expected, in a thoughtful way, so our members know you are focused on providing extraordinary hospitality.
  • Maintain complete understanding of culinary and beverage menus including ingredients, sides, presentation, and possible allergens
  • Take member and guest food and beverage orders, utilize salesmanship techniques, make appropriate recommendations, and up sell when the occasion presents itself.
  • Deal with guest complaints by finding a way to say yes; Involve the Manager on Duty as needed
  • Anticipate and fulfill a wide assortment of member or guest needs and wants, both food and beverage and non-food and beverage related.
  • Possess an understanding of proper steps of service and engage in table maintenance and resetting with efficiency, speed, and grace.
  • Performs all routine and assigned opening and closing procedures as well as side work.
  • Provides attentive, professional, and welcoming service to an assigned section and additionally assists coworkers in other sections as needed and/or instructed.
  • Work with a sense of urgency and attention to detail
  • Act as part of the team to maintain the high standards of service, cleanliness, and appearance of the restaurant
  • Uphold the values, mission, and standards set forth by CORE: NYC

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2+ Year Serving experience in New York restaurants, ideally in fine dining environment
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about food, wine, beer & spirits
  • Ability to adapt and improvise in order to personalize service for each guest
  • Experience with Aloha or a similar POS system
  • Possess a strong work ethic and desire to learn and grow.
  • Exhibits strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure, be professional, efficient, detail-oriented, and courteous
  • Must be able to stand and or walk for long periods of time without sitting
  • Must be able to carry up to 30 lbs.
  • Must have flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays when needed

Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly ($17.00) plus tips
