We are currently recruiting for a Linen Room Attendant

The primary purpose of this position is to meet the sanitation and safety needs of the patients, staff and visitors of the hospital.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare all linen (sheets, spreads, laundry bags, towel, etc.) and wearing apparel received daily distribute to the patient care areas, clinics, etc.
  • Wearing apparel shall be checked for repairs, names etc. and delivered to the appropriate ward.
  • Items to be repaired shall be bagged and transported weekly to the sewing room.
  • Clean linen room, empty trash, sweep/dust and mop floors daily or as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

This is a 1st shift position, 7:00am- 3:30pm, Monday-Friday, with alternating weekends and holidays.

This is a full-time position and eligible for the full State benefits package including health insurance and retirement. This position is designated Mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather.

Ability to work effectively with others.

Ability to follow written and oral instructions in the English language.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Previous housekeeping experience (mopping, sweeping, emptying trash...)

Ability to carry out procedures and policies as job indicates

Management prefers 1 year of linen experience. (sorting, inspecting and distributing of linen) in a hospital environment. Some state job postings say you can qualify by an "equivalent combination of education and experience." Education and/or experience in a commercial or institutional laundry that is directly related to the job and consistent with accepted practices of the trade.
