Performs semiskilled work in the care and cleaning of buildings and facilities; does related work as required. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Facility Maintenance Supervisor.
This is medium work requiring the exertion of 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; work requires climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for depth perception, color perception, visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, assembly or fabrication of parts at or within arms length, operation of machines, operation of motor vehicles or equipment, and determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work; the worker is subject to inside environmental conditions, vibration, and atmospheric conditions. The worker may be exposed to bloodborne pathogens and may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment. Cleaning and maintaining the Monroe Aquatic and Fitness Center main facility, water park and grounds.
Washes, dries, folds, and stocks shelves with towels; collects used towels; delivers clean towels to the appropriate areas.
Cleans and supplies restrooms and locker rooms.
Sweeps, mops, and vacuums and cleans carpets.
Washes windows, glass doors, walls, and restroom fixtures.
Gathers and disposes of refuse, litter, and trash from buildings and grounds.
Sets up rooms for special events.
Cleans refrigerators, microwaves, and stove; loads, unloads, and starts dishwasher.
Cleans and sanitizes aerobics and Kids Connection rooms at end of each night or as required.
Cleans messes and accidents as needed.
Performs related tasks as required. General knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies, and equipment and ability to use them economically and efficiently; ability to understand oral and written directions; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates; ability to read and write; ability to work independently.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and minimal custodial experience.
