The Role
Our hosts contribute to our overarching culture of authentic hospitality by delivering intuitive, warm, and gracious service. The host is the first and last person our guests encounter and therefore crucial ambassadors of our brand. Hosts bring their own unique personality and spirit to our team by seamlessly welcoming, seating, and assisting our guests however needed as per our Steps of Service, providing their own flavor to the guest's experience.
Responsibilities will include:
- Contribute to our culture of excellence and strive to exceed our guest's expectations every day.
- Develop a thorough knowledge of the floorplan and position numbers.
- Follow our service standards to consistently execute our steps of service in order to be present with our guests, having service become second nature.
- Warmly welcome all guests upon arrival and swiftly take them to their table without hesitation. Guide any guests to the WC, or provide any other directions on property as needed, and wish all guests goodbye when leaving.
- Gain a deep understanding of how to answer the telephone, how to speak with our guests, provide directions, answer any relevant questions, and assist in taking reservations.
- Develop thorough knowledge of RESY to be able to confidently make reservations and be able to assist/seat incoming guests with ease.
- Maintain all menus at host stand and pick-up any in the dining areas while returning from seating guests.
- Monitor and proactively manage all requests in Alice, take IRD orders, input orders into the POS and take payment as needed.
- Assist in setting all large parties per the floorplan at the beginning of service and manage throughout the shift.
- Aid in pouring water, bussing, cleaning, and resetting tables as needed, ensuring someone is always covering the host stand.
- Be approachable, knowledgeable, and confident, able to answer any guest questions or proactively alert the manager.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure everyone is working cohesively during set-up, service and at closing.
- Completes opening and closing side-work as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Abide by all State, Federal and Corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages.
- Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
- Perform any other job related duties as assigned.
Experience Required
- Six (6) months related experience in hospitality or service industry
- Ability to move throughout all food and beverage areas and continuously perform essential job functions.
- Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.
- Ability to observe and distinguish product quality by smell, taste, and appearance.
