Chef Mathew Peters, the first American to win the prestigious Bocuse d'Or in 2017, is bringing his culinary expertise to the heart of Austin with the opening of Prelude, an elevated cocktail bar and lounge set in a historic home in West Central Austin.

Prelude will offer a unique Austin experience,bining innovative cocktail creations with elevated small bites. The menu will feature a curated selection of small plates, designed toplement the bar program s signature cocktails and highlight Chef Peters' culinary artistry.

Job Overview

As a barback/food runner you will play a crucial role in providing an exceptional dining experience to our guests. Your attention to detail, exceptional service skills, and ability to anticipate guest needs will contribute to maintaining the high standards of our establishment.

Responsibilities/Duties:

Make sure your you station is setup adequately upon arrival.

Cleaning glassware both through a glasswasher and by hand.

Cleaning dishes, pots and pans as well as anything else required throughout the shift.

Thoroughly understand the menu offerings, including ingredients, preparation methods, and special features.

Work with your partner in the back byanizing the glassware and plates to ensure a streamlined and efficient style of service.

Getting juices and bottles for the bartenders as needed.

Maintain a clean workspace at all times, put everything back w you found it.

You must explain each dish you serve to the guest as written in employee handbook.

You will be required to be able to fill in as barback or food runner depending on the needs of the day.

Clear empty dishes and used tableware promptly to maintain a clutter-free environment.

Work collaboratively with kitchen staff, bartenders, and servers to ensure seamless coordination of food and beverage service.

Ad to food safety and hygiene standards to ensure the well-being of guests.

Be able to take order of a guest as needed, it will not be your primary job but is important you do so when you are required too.

Required Skills & Abilities:

Maintain up-to-date knowledge ofpany Food Safety Programs within assigned area of responsibility, as well as all local, state, and federal regulations.

Develop and maintain positive and productive working relationships with other colleagues and departments.

Partner with and assist others to promote an environment of teamwork and achievemon goals.

Demonstrate ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly, correctly, and in a way that allows one to solve work-related issues.

Uses basicputer hardware and software.

Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.

Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift.

Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.

Ability to work non-traditional hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Education & Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED equivalency

Minimum two (2) years related hospitality and service experience

Active TABC and Food Handler s certification

Must be at least 21 years old

Must be authorized to work in the United States
