Lead Janitor

Position Summary Details

The Lead Janitor is responsible for overseeing the daily cleaning and maintenance operations of a facility. This role ensures that all janitorial staff perform their duties efficiently and that the building remains clean, safe, and well-maintained. The Lead Janitor also performs hands-on cleaning tasks and serves as the primary point of contact between janitorial staff and management.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the work of janitorial staff, including scheduling, training, and performance monitoring.
• Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing restrooms and common areas.
• Inspect facilities regularly to ensure cleanliness standards are met.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; order replacements as needed.
• Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
• Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel.
• Assist with onboarding and training of new janitorial staff.
• Respond to emergency cleaning situations promptly and effectively.
• Maintain records of cleaning schedules, inspections, and supply usage.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Preferred Qualifications

• Customer Service Experience
• One year of lead or supervisory experience
