The family resides in the Bahamas for six months of the year but returns to Rye for long weekends and seasonal stays. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and takes immense pride in their work. This is a long-term position with a family who values loyaltymost household staff have been with them for 15-20 years.??????? Responsibilities ??????? Housekeeping & Organization Full-charge cleaning of the home, including pool bath and rooms used by household staff (e.g., Diego). Daily bed-making and bathroom tidying (increased attention when the family is in town). Deep cleaning of all bathrooms, bedrooms, common areas, and guest quarters. Stocking bathrooms with essential supplies (toilet paper, Kleenex, etc.). Maintaining housekeeping apartment and guest spaces in top condition. Run hot water in guest sinks/showers before arrivals to avoid discolored water. Trash and recycling duties, including following the Rye recycling schedule. Mail/package retrieval and dry cleaning drop-off/pickup coordination. Organizing closets, drawers, and assisting with unpacking, especially for children. Laundry Full family laundry, including proper folding and putting away. Washing and restocking pool towels. Must clean lint trap in dryer regularly. Kitchen & Pantry Keep kitchen, fridge, and pantry clean, organized, and stocked. Dispose of expired food and replenish as needed. Grocery shopping for food, household, and cleaning items. Light meal prep or cooking of simple, healthy meals. Serve meals to the family in preferred locations (terrace, gun room). Cook for small gatherings (up to 6 people). Outdoor/Seasonal Duties Wipe down outdoor furniture (tables, lounge chairs) during warm months. Arrange fresh flowers for main living areas. Leave appropriate lights on before family returns. General Support Run errands (e.g., pharmacy, ice, etc.). Be present in the home when family members (especially children) are visiting, even if principals are away. Communicate effectively with other staff and uphold the family's high standards. ??????? Ideal Candidate Highly experienced , with a minimum of 5-10+ years in private households.
