A prep cook is a crucial member of the kitchen staff, responsible for preparing ingredients and setting up the kitchen for cooking.

They handle tasks like washing, chopping, and portioning food items, ensuring they are ready for chefs to use in dishes.

Prep cooks also maintain a clean and organized workspace, following food safety guidelines and assisting with other kitchen duties as needed.

Responsibilities of a Prep Cook:

Ingredient Preparation: Washing, peeling, chopping, slicing, and dicing vegetables, fruits, meats, and other food items.

Food Safety: Adhering to proper food handling procedures and maintaining a clean kitchen station.

Organization and Storage: Ensuring ingredients are properly labeled, stored, and readily available.

Assisting Chefs: Providing support to chefs by preparing ingredients, making sauces, and sometimes cooking simple dishes.

Kitchen Maintenance: Cleaning and sanitizing workstations, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.

Following Instructions: Understanding and following prep lists and instructions from chefs.

Skills and Qualifications:

Work between 630am-2pm, tba.
