SAGE is the world's largest and oldest organization dedicated to improving the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBTQ+) older adults. Founded in 1978 and headquartered in New York City, SAGE is a national organization that offers supportive services and consumer resources for LGBTQ+ older adults and their caregivers, advocates for public policy changes that address the needs of LGBTQ+ older people, and provides cultural competency training for aging providers and LGBTQ+ organizations, largely through its National Resource Center on LGBTQ+ Aging and its growing social enterprise SAGECare. Role Summary: The Concierge provides a warm welcome to older adult participants and all visitors at the SAGE Center, announces the arrival of visitors, manages phone calls, answer inquiries, and provides support to SAGE's constituents, SAGE Center programming and operations, and to SAGE as a whole. The Concierge is an integral part in ensuring the Center remains a welcoming and inclusive space. This role report to the Director of the Edie Windsor Center. Key Responsibilities: Provide administrative support to Edie Windsor SAGE Center Greet and direct Participants and visitors entering the Center Gain general knowledge about Center operations, program times and locations, and the Center's calendars Answer phone and in-person queries, responding, transferring, or following up as necessary Provide information and referrals to callers/participants, capture I&Rs data and maintain metrics Register new SAGE Center Participants (guide through registration form, explain Center services, give tours, etc.) Maintain Participant RSVP lists for SAGE Center events and activities, including processing cash transactions for fee-based events Maintain a clean and organized reception and lobby area Provide data entry support using Salesforce and STARS Receive and sort mail and deliveries, and notify recipients Create flyers and signs for Center programs and special events Provide training/guidance to volunteers and newer hires into Concierge role Provide other assistance/support as assigned Need-to-haves: Demonstrated experience in similar role Ability to manage multiple phone lines and transfer accordingly Willingness to learn about SAGE's programming, both nationally and specific to the SAGE Centers and answer inquiries from callers and in-person visitors Ability to work comfortably and effectively in a fast-paced environment Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, using good judgment Ability to provide a welcoming environment; interact professionally and personably with Participants, visitors, and staff; and escalate concerns appropriately Ability to multitask with excellent time-management skills Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook and Excel Commitment to SAGE's mission and alignment with SAGE's values Nice-to-haves: Bilingual Spanish ability preferred Experience with Salesforce and NYC Aging databases preferred Experience in aging and/or social services and/or LGBTQ+ services a plus Experience and passion for working with marginalized communities, particularly BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities Strong written and verbal communication skills What we offer: The status : Full-time; Non-exempt The location: In-person at Edie Windsor SAGE Center: 305 7th Ave 15th Fl, NY, NY 10001 The schedule: 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 12:00 to 8:00pm.
