Custodian II

Under general supervision, the Custodian II is responsible for the custodial functions of an area or areas of Park University, participate in keeping the assigned areas and facilities clean, orderly, and safe, and other related work as may be required. Position Accountabilities

• Safety measures - Ability to do all work safely, and perform work in such a way that the area being cleaned is safe for others in the area. Tasks are performed by using a safe and proper manner .

• Service-Oriented - Focus our efforts on ensuring safety, building cleanliness, environmental protection, and stewardship of Park University assets. C ontinually assess the needs of our customers and their satisfaction with our programs and services.

• Communication - Foster teamwork, collaboration and cooperation across all departmental boundaries.

• Professionalism and integrity - All duties performed are done so in a highly professional manner that reflects the departments core values. C ourteous, consc ientious, and respectful in dealings with others. C onduct is fair, ethical and honest.

Position Requirements:

• High School graduate or equivalent is preferred.

• Previous custodial experience preferred.

• Knowledge of methods of cleaning materials, equipment, and supplies used in custodial and cleaning work.

• Knowledge of routine hand and power tools .

• Ability to follow assigned schedules .

• Ability to estimate quantity and types of materials and supplies needed.

• Ability to maintain simple records and prepare routine reports.

• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written records in English.

• Ability to maintain cooperative relations with those contacted in the course of work.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.

• Ability to bend, stoop , and reach, and perform repetitive movements, such as vacuuming or mopping requires.

• Ability to use a ladder to change out light bulbs.

• Ability to perform work in a safe manner
