Summary : The Facility Custodian is the foremost team member in creating an environment that team members feel clean and comfortable in. This role is responsible for ensuring that the facilities are neat, clean and organized. This position is also responsible for ensuring that Hygiene PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), soap and sanitizer are stocked and readily available for use, aiding in hygiene and food safety compliance. The Facility Custodian must take pride and ownership in knowing that their role is critical for ensuring that facility presents in a fashion that is commensurate with the quality of the products in produces. Furthermore, this role sets the stage for auditor and customer first impressions of the facility, driving new certification and new customer opportunities that are crucial for business growth and expansion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reading and understanding applicable SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and SSOPs (Sanitation Standard Operation Procedures)
- Carrying out job duties in accordance with company policies and applicable third party regulations
- Foster a team environment by promoting team-first atmosphere with all employees.
- Maintain a clean environment such as walls, sinks, windows, waste receptacles, floors, and restrooms
- Clean and maintain Donning and Doffing Rooms
- Maintain Inventory of and stock Hygiene PPE, soap, paper towels, sanitizer, seat covers, toilet paper, and trash can liners
- Clean and maintain the employee breakroom, including tables, chairs, refrigerators, microwaves, sinks, counters and floors
- Clean and maintain the employee locker rooms
- Cleaning and maintain the Custodial closets
- Clean and prepare all cleaning equipment/accessories following established procedures
- Adhere to donning/doffing procedures.
- Operate all equipment in a safe manner
- Follow safety protocols related to placement of signage, PPE, and reporting
- Adherence to HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) and Food Defense.
- Other duties as assigned
Educational Qualification:
- Minimum high school diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
Required Skills / Experience:
- Experience in custodial and/or janitorial field preferred.
- Experience in the food industry strongly preferred.
