Responsibilities

The Maintenance Engineer performs a variety of preventive maintenance, repairs, and facilities tasks on the building, equipment, and grounds to ensure the facility is kept in optimal condition. The role involves skilled trade work in areas such as carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, heating and air conditioning, and locksmith duties.

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on the building and equipment, including carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Maintain and repair kitchen equipment.
  • Assemble furniture and other items as needed.
  • Assist with quarterly technical testing of equipment and facility inspections, identifying the need for work orders and following up on tasks that require external support.
  • Ensure the grounds and surrounding areas are well-maintained..
  • Required Skills & Knowledge:

    • Expertise in the operation, troubleshooting, and repair of boilers, compressors, diesel generators, pumps, motors, and related equipment.
    • Proficiency in HVAC systems and general mechanical/electrical systems.
    • Familiarity with testing methods and tools for mechanical and electrical systems.
    • Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry standards, as well as an understanding of pneumatics.
    • Ability to understand and communicate complex instructions, both verbal and written.
    • Ability to train staff and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
    • Proficiency in reading blueprints and specifications.
    • Skilled in operating maintenance equipment and evaluating/repairing malfunctioning equipment.
    • Familiarity with office software and automated systems.
    • Strong ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
    Qualifications

    Education/Work Experience RequirementsRequires three years of recent, progressively responsible maintenance-related work experience that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities.Licensure/CertificationCurrent electrical, plumbing, or boiler licensure is preferred.

    If assigned to Property Maintenance ; requires current drivers license valid in the state of Washington.
