Job Details Philo Ridge Farm is seeking a friendly, knowledgeable, and service-driven Lead Bartender to join our hospitality team. This role is key to creating a warm, welcoming guest experience while highlighting seasonal, farm-inspired beverages that reflect our values of sustainability and craftsmanship. The Service Bartender will prepare and serve both classic and signature cocktails using ingredients sourced from our farm and local partners whenever possible. Responsibilities include supporting both guest-facing service and bar orders from the dining room, greeting guests, making thoughtful recommendations, and ensuring all beverages and light food items are prepared with consistency and care. The ideal candidate is passionate about high-quality, seasonal ingredients, comfortable in a fast-paced environment, and committed to maintaining cleanliness, organization, and open communication.The Bartender position can be full-time, part-time, or seasonal, requiring at least 18 hours a week, including availability for mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide a warm, engaging, and informative guest experience, guiding guests through menu offerings and answering questions
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including signature cocktails, mocktails, coffee, and espresso drinks, with accuracy and efficiency
- Assist in developing seasonal cocktails and mocktail menus using farm-grown or preserved ingredients
- Set up, maintain, and break down the bar and storage areas; ensure bar is clean, organized, and well-stocked throughout the day
- Maintain an accurate daily inventory of all beverages and bar ingredients
- Operate the POS system and cash register accurately; communicate special requests to the kitchen as needed
- Follow all food safety protocols and Vermont Department of Liquor Control regulations
- Represent and share the Philo Ridge Farm story with guests; support team members and assist with dining room operations as needed
- Minimum 1 year of bartending experience with strong customer service and cashhandling skills
- Must have a certificate of completion for Vermont First-Class Server Training or be able to provide it before the first day of work
- Strong knowledge of food, cooking techniques, and beverage pairing
- Commitment to delivering exceptional guest service and high-quality food
- Professional, punctual, and reliable, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong work ethic with attention to detail, time management, and multitasking abilities
- Team-oriented self-starter who can work independently and adapt to changing priorities
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with the ability to stay organized under pressure
- Willing and available to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Knowledge of food safety and health regulations
- Experienced with POS systems, cash handling, and standard restaurant equipment
- Physically capable of standing or walking for extended periods, lifting and moving up to 50 pounds, and working in a range of indoor and outdoor conditions
Compensation: Hourly ($14.00) plus tips
