Job Title: Custodian Reports To: Manager, Custodial

Job Summary:

As an essential member of the custodial team, the Custodian performs various duties to maintain the cleanliness and professional appearance of offices, hallways, common areas and restrooms. Ensures spaces are prepared for the following day by completing the following tasks, to include but not limited to: taking out the trash, tidying furniture, dusting surfaces, sweeping and mopping floors, and vacuuming carpets.

Essential Functions:

  • Sweeps and mops floors. Vacuums carpets.
  • Cleans and sanitizes toilets, sinks and showers. Restocks disposable products as needed (e.g. soap).
  • Wipes, dusts and/or washes mirrors, windows, and other applicable surfaces.
  • Collects all garbage from assigned locations. Disinfects and cleans trashcans. Properly disposes of trash in appropriate dumpsters.
  • Operates general cleaning equipment to include but not limited to vacuum cleaner, wet and dry mops, and brooms.
  • Secures facilities after operating hours by locking doors, closing windows and arming the security system.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Professional experience as custodian, janitor or similar role.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Attention to detail and conscientiousness.
  • Quality customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Current Colorado Drivers License with clear MVR that complies with organizational insurance requirements.
  • Valid Colorado Drivers License with proof of insurance.
