Seeking Experienced Apartment Property Maintenance Technician

Baywood Apartments is a 100-unit apartment community nestled within a mostly residential neighborhood, off of Mission Blvd, near highways 238, 680 and 880, making Baywood an ideal location to work and live.

We are seeking a positive, motivated team member to fulfill the role of Full-Time Maintenance Technician.

Total compensation will depend on experience, starting at $4,500.00 per month, which may also include onsite housing. After probation period, benefit packages are available for medical, dental and vision. First year employees will receive up to 17 days off, including holidays.

Below is the list of experience and qualities we are looking for in our maintenance staff.

Apartment Maintenance Worker Responsibilities & Duties:

Conduct routine inspections of the property to identify maintenance needs
Perform plumbing repairs such as fixing leaks and unclogging drains
Carry out electrical repairs including replacing light fixtures and troubleshooting wiring issues
Maintain HVAC systems and conduct necessary repairs or replacements
Repair and paint walls, ceilings, and doors
Install and repair appliances
Perform carpentry tasks including repairing floors, doors, and cabinets
Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests
Collaborate with property management and other team members to plan maintenance work
Oversee and manage contractors for specialized repair work
Maintain landscaping and grounds as needed
Provide excellent customer service to residents
Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies

Apartment Maintenance Worker Qualifications & Skills:

Previous experience in apartment maintenance or a related field (must have)
Certification in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical work (preferred)
Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
Ability to use hand and power tools. Own all necessary tools
Strong problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills
Good organizational and time management skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Customer service experience
Attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Familiarity with health and safety regulations
Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and manuals
Ability to pass a background check
A valid driver's license
