Housekeeper
Location: Group Home Setting (Brooklyn, NY)
Reports To: Residential Manager
Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team in a group home setting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents. This role also includes assisting the cook with meal preparation tasks, such as peeling fruits and vegetables.
Responsibilities:
  1. Cleaning and Maintenance:
  2. Perform daily cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting all areas of the home.
  3. Clean and sanitize bathrooms, kitchens, and common areas.
  4. Ensure all bedrooms are tidy, beds are made, and linens are changed regularly.
  5. Empty trash bins and dispose of waste properly.
  6. Maintain cleanliness of windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces.
  7. Ensure the home is always clean, smelling fresh, and presentable.
  8. Assisting the Cook:
  9. Peel and prepare fruit and vegetables as needed.
  10. Assist with other meal preparation tasks as directed by the cook.
  11. Ensure the kitchen area is clean and organized.
  12. Laundry:
  13. Wash, dry, fold, and store residents' clothing and linens.
  14. Ensure laundry areas are kept clean and organized.
  15. General Duties:
  16. Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the Residential Manager.
  17. Follow all health and safety regulations.
  18. Maintain a respectful and supportive environment for residents.
Work Environment:
  • The client is Jewish, and providers are required to eat the food in the residence, which is kosher. If you are not comfortable eating the provided food, you may step out to eat during breaks.
  • The home should always be clean, smelling nice, and presentable to ensure a comfortable living environment for the residents.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous housekeeping experience preferred.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect residents' privacy.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the needs of the home and residents.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
Schedule:
  • Full-time and part-time positions available.
  • Hours vary.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
Compensation:
  • The role is $16.50 per hour.
