Position Summary

**REMOTE LOCATION** Headquartered in Shaver Lake, CA

This is an International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 1245 represented classification, which has over 100 years of experience representing employees at PG&E. This job is subject to collective bargaining.

The full time Camp Support Specialist is an employee who, without direct supervision operates the cookhouse and lodging facilities (when open) in addition to office and cleaning duties as Directed by the Supervisor of Operations Supervisor (SOS).

PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, collective bargaining agreement, and internal equity.

Under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement, the starting hourly rate range for this position is $57.20-$62.06, subject to collectively bargained wage increases.

Responsibilities:

  • Support development of schedules for Hiring Hall employees on an as-needed basis.
  • May be required to work overtime consistent with Title 208 and 212 Work independently and collaborate with counterpart on overlapping days.
  • Supports Supervisor to ensure successful integration and orientation of Hiring Hall employees. Work extended hours to ensure cook house is open for breakfast and dinner and on weekends.
  • Support operations and special events.
  • Can perform all responsibilities of Cooks and Housekeepers.
  • Work independently and collaborate with counterpart on overlapping days.

Cook Responsibilities

  • Develop nourishing menus; ensure meals are nutritious and well balanced and alters menu to meet special dietary needs; determine menu and collects food from storage areas; prepares, cuts, mixes and cooks a wide variety of foods; measure, weigh and check temperatures to ensure proper cooking/safety of food; operate kitchen equipment including: stove, grill, toaster, microwave, ovens, refrigerator/freezer and other associated equipment. Assist in the kitchen and dining room with serving food and general cleanup.
  • Clean and sanitize food preparation areas and equipment; wash dishes and cooking pans; wipe down dining areas, surfaces and fixtures; sweep and mop floor surfaces; operate dishwashing equipment; vacuum carpet.
  • Use cart or carry food by hand from storage and kitchen areas; receive and places food orders in storage; serve food to dining area; replenish/remove food vessels to be processed; remove trash containers and place them in designated areas.
  • Use computer to order supplies/food and research menus; maintain order lists daily; uses phone and computer to communicate and schedule meals/tasks.
  • Maintain adequate supplies of food to be cooked; check quality of fresh foods to determine expiration date; dispose of expired foods.
  • Attend and participate in meetings and trainings.
  • Complete "deep" cleaning projects within the kitchen and dining area; clean equipment; use brooms, mops, disinfect and scrub floors, tables, and equipment; use chemicals and cleaning tools to scrape/scrub and detail kitchen and dining room areas.
  • Answer phone; enter data in computer system, handle paperwork; perform general filing tasks.

Housekeeper Responsibilities

  • Perform general cleaning and housekeeping duties in the dormitories, buildings, office spaces (including the Powerhouse bathrooms, control room, and breakroom), gym and other facilities in camp.
  • Ability to navigate safely in an industrial setting to clean bathrooms, offices and breakrooms
  • Floor care, including vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping.
  • Will perform commercial scale linen laundry as needed.
  • Travel between different facilities using company provided vehicle.
  • Re-stock supplies and maintain storage areas.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must possess a California Class C Driver's License by Day 1
  • Must be 18 years of age, or older
  • Employees holding a Camp Support Specialist Resident classification will be required to reside at permanent Company housing
  • Acquire (within 30 days of hire) and maintain Serve-Safe Manager certificate.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous housekeeping or cooking experience at a PG&E facility.
  • 1+ year demonstrated experience in general cleaning practice.
  • Advanced cooking skills and/or culinary training.
  • Serve Safe certification.
