Dishwasher

Position Summary:

• As a Dishwasher at the Aquarium of the Pacific, youll play a critical role in maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen. You'll support kitchen staff during busy events by ensuring dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are cleaned efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate industrial dishwashing machines and hand-wash items as needed
• Clean dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans quickly and thoroughly
• Ensure proper handling and storage of all kitchen tools and equipment
• Maintain cleanliness of dish stations, kitchen floors, trash bins, and restrooms as assigned
• Assist with basic food prep or setup as directed
• Follow all sanitation and safety protocols, including PPE use and proper chemical handling
• Support team members in maintaining smooth kitchen flow during high-volume events

Requirements:

• Prior experience as a dishwasher or in food service preferred
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for long periods (48 hours)
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume event setting
• Flexible availability, especially evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Dependable, team-oriented, and able to follow instructions

General responsibilities when working a Dishwasher job assignment can include:

• Collect used kitchenware from dining and or kitchen areas
• Load and unload dishwashing machine, ensure complete cleanliness and sanitation of dishes
• Hand wash specific items according to assigned procedures
• Store and restock clean kitchenware
• Maintain cleaning supplies stock, transfer cleaning supplies between storage and work area
• Keep a clean and orderly workstation
• Comply with all sanitation and safety policies and procedures
• Wash work tables and other food prep areas to cleanliness standards
