Job Description
Freelance Pastry Consultant (Short-Term Project)
_Levantine-Inspired Desserts Contract Position_
Job Summary:
We are seeking a creative and experienced Pastry Consultant or Pastry Chef for a short-term contract to help us develop 2-3 new dessert offerings for our upscale fast-casual Levantine restaurant. Key Responsibilities:
Work directly with the owners to conceptualize, test, and finalize 2-3 unique dessert recipes inspired by Levantine flavors and ingredients.
Utilize existing kitchen equipment and workspace to develop desserts that are feasible for daily production.
Ensure the final products are visually appealing, delicious, and consistent with the restaurant's brand and style.
Provide guidance on ingredients, sourcing, and simple plating techniques for the FOH/BOH team to replicate.
Deliver a clear recipe guide with instructions and photos, and optionally assist with staff training on execution.
Ideal Experience:
Professional experience in pastry or dessert creation (restaurant, catering, or bakery).
Strong technical baking and food prep skills, with the ability to adapt to different kitchen setups.
Creative mindset with an eye for presentation and flavor pairing.
Familiarity with Mediterranean or Middle Eastern ingredients is a plus, but not required.
Open to collaboration and feedback from our team.
Project Scope & Timeline:
Short-term contract (estimated 1-2 months of strong collaboration, flexible based on your schedule, then quarterly check ins, menu/seasonal updates, ext )
Compensation based on experience and deliverables.
Work can be done on-site with our team and/or off-site for development and testing.
