In this role, you will support patient meal service by setting up and operating tray assembly stations, assisting patients with menu selections, and delivering meals in accordance with dietary guidelines. You will ensure proper food handling and sanitation practices, maintain a clean work area, and rotate and store supplies daily. Responsibilities also include collecting trays, delivering snacks, working in the dishroom or potroom, and performing light housekeeping duties. This position requires flexibility to work at all tray assembly stations and assist with other food service tasks as assigned.Salary Range: $21.57-21.57/hr
Effective 06/22/2025, employees represented by the AFSCME Union will receive a minimum wage of $25.

Requirements

Previous experience in food service, including tray assembly and delivery.

Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions in English to accurately match food items with menu selections.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced tray assembly environment.

Basic math skills to perform calculations without the use of a calculator.

Basic knowledge and understanding of dietary requirements.

Strong interpersonal skills to interact professionally with co-workers, medical staff, patients, supervisors, and management.

Ability to adhere to department dress code.

Physical ability to stand for long periods, stretch, bend, push, walk, lift, and reach repetitively.

Ability to lift and push heavy carts.

Willingness to attend departmental training sessions as required.
