Position Summary:
As Concessions Bartender at Keeneland Hospitality, you are responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This role requires strong knowledge of drink preparation, safe alcohol service practices, and excellent customer service. Bartenders are expected to maintain a clean and organized bar area, ensure guest satisfaction, and accurately handle all cash and credit transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet guests promptly and courteously.
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with standardized recipes and venue policies.
- Practice safe and responsible alcohol service in compliance with Kentucky state laws and Keeneland policies.
- Handle all transactions accurately using a Point-of-Sale (POS) system.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including stocking supplies, garnishes, and glassware.
- Monitor guest behavior and respond appropriately to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
- Communicate effectively with concession and supervisory staff to coordinate service and resolve issues.
- Follow all sanitation and safety guidelines, including cleaning equipment and surfaces regularly.
- Perform opening and closing duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Previous bartending experience in a concession, event, or hospitality setting preferred.
- Must be at least 20 years of age and legally eligible to serve alcohol in the state of Kentucky.
- Strong knowledge of cocktail recipes, drink presentation, and bar operations.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift/push up to 50lbs.
- Availability to work flexible hours including weekends, and holidays.
Licensing Requirements:
- A valid Fayette County Food Handler’s License is required for all food and beverage staff. Must be obtained prior to the first scheduled shift.
- A Kentucky Horse Racing Commission license is required for all track workers. This license will be provided to you on behalf of Keeneland upon hire.
