Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Sushi Cook to join our team at our elevated Omakase restaurant. This role involves creating and refining house-made sauces, overseeing hot preparation, and ensuring exceptional service during each course. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Japanese culinary techniques, a passion for quality ingredients, and the ability to execute precise, high-level dishes in a fast-paced environment. A commitment to excellence, creativity, and attention to detail is essential. Our sushi cook is looking to learn the skills needed to work in Omakase and must be able to assist the sushi chefs and eventually work their way into the sushi chef position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and perfect signature sauces and accompaniments for Omakase dishes
- Prepare and execute hot kitchen items in line with Omakase service
- Collaborate with chefs to ensure a seamless dining experience
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards
- Learn the skill needed to move into the sushi chef role
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in an Omakase or high-end sushi restaurant preferred
- Strong knowledge of Japanese cuisine and cooking techniques
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Compensation: Hourly ($20.00) plus tips
