The Banquet Captain is responsible for ensuring the success of the banquets and banquet related food and beverage operations. They must follow the required procedures for handling, cleaning, disposing of food and beverages. The Banquet Captain will assist to maintain the AAA Four Diamond Standards.
They will always conduct themselves in a manner which supports the Core Values of Sunriver Resort: Trust, Open & Honest Communication, and Commitment. The Banquet Captain shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times. They will be responsible for exemplifying the Sunriver Resort Culture as well as promoting Sunriver Resort as both the Destination and Employer of Choice!
Responsibilities- Maintains a commitment to customer service and guest satisfaction
- Promotes high associate morale
- Ensures associates meet all established service standards
- Assist the Banquet Management team in proper staffing and scheduling- managing levels to BEOs
- Train and assist with the supervision of staff; including taking necessary disciplinary actions
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff when food ordering expressing any special needs
- Be familiar with all property amenities and other restaurant menus and hours of operation
- Ensures food and beverage is served while maintaining a consistent presentation and proper temperature

- Communicates all pertinent information to the banquets team
- Attends appropriate department meetings
- Resolves guest issues promptly and with great care and effectiveness
- Offers product knowledge of food and beverage to guests
- Maintains constant awareness of safety issues Reports all safety incidents to on-duty supervisor.
- Follows Banquet Event Orders with strong attention to detail
- Ensures proper handling, cleaning and sanitation of equipment, china, glass and silver
- Follows through on lost and found procedures.
- Report any needed repairs immediately to supervisor
- Reports to work on time and according to posted schedule, maintains accurate time records and follows proper standards for issuance of rooms
- Maintains a professional appearance. Follows all Sunriver Resort dress code standards.
- Remains alert, courteous and helpful to the guests and colleagues at all times.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Three or more
- Minimum 3 years Banquet or Catering leadership experience required
- At least one year customer service experience required
- At least six months food & beverage experience required
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
- Must possess valid OLCC card
- Must possess valid Food Handlers card
- Must have valid drivers license and meet company driving requirements
- Must have excellent leadership skills and be a positive example for staff
- Must be able to accurately follow instructions, both verbally and written
- Must be highly detailed orientated
- Must be knowledgeable and familiar with food and beverage industry
- Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs;
