Job Description

You will accurately and efficiently prepare, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold food items for various meal periods, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special catered events.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for food production according to recipes and directions.

• Assist with food production, including cooking duties.

• Participate in food preparation and portioning by cutting and cleaning various fruits, vegetables, and proteins using a knife and/or cutting machines.

• Produce food for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and catered events.

• Follow production sheets, portioning, and merchandising details as instructed by management.

• Adhere to all recipes and guidelines while meeting production deadlines.

• Ensure consistent quality of all product items.

• Taste all food prepared for the station to ensure flavor, freshness, and quality.

• Maintain a clean and organized station.

• Maintain kitchen equipment.

• Follow proper rotation and storage of goods, including proper labeling and stocking of ingredients following the FIFO method.

Essential Skills

• Experience as a line cook, food prep, chef, or sous chef.

• Proficiency in food production and prep cooking.

• Batch cooking experience or experience in high-demand restaurant settings.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Must have and maintain an active Food Handlers Card (ServSafe) and adhere to local food handler requirements.

Work Environment

The work environment is a fast-paced kitchen with a high sense of urgency, moderate to high noise levels, and exposure to soaps and cleaning solutions. Employees may encounter slippery or uneven surfaces and will frequently move between cold freezers and normal kitchen environments. Occasional exposure to smoke, steam, and heat in confined spaces is expected. Shifts are as follows: Shift #1: Thursday Monday, 11:00 am - 7:30 pm, and Shift #2: Tuesday through Saturday, 12:00 pm - 8:30 pm.

This is a Contract position based out of Atherton, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.01 - $27.01/hr.
