Craig County Public Schools is accepting applications for a full-time, salaried custodian position that is currently available. This is an evening-shift position with a 30 minute dinner break.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The custodian performs routine manual labor associated with the daily cleaning of buildings. Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to, dust mopping, sweeping, wet mopping, vacuuming, dusting, waxing, removing trash, cleaning bathrooms, and polishing furniture.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to perform tasks requiring moderate physical strength
• Ability to read basic operating instructions
• Ability to cooperate with other staff members
• Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment
• Dependability and punctuality required
• Ability to respond to emergencies in support of students and school operations
• Have the physical ability to repeatedly lift heavy objects (40+ lbs.) as needed
• Ability to support school functions and community activities as deemed necessary

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment
• Previous custodial experience

Salary: $28,439 - $30,940 depending on experience.

FLSA: Non-Exempt
