St Julien Hotel & Spa is looking for a hard-working and outgoing Barback for the T-Zero Bar to support the Bartenders and Cocktail Servers by ensuring that they are set up successfully to serve all guests in T-Zero, the Hotel lobby, and on the outdoor terrace.

Essential Job Functions:

• Understand the importance of, and adhere to, the Hotel’s luxury service standards.
• Perform all opening, running, and closing duties.
• Ensure bar wells are stocked with ice before opening for service; maintain sufficient levels throughout each service.
• Supply Bartenders and Cocktail Servers with an appropriate amount of beverages (wine, beer, liquor, etc.) from cold storage.
• Run food to tables and approach every guest with eye contact and a sincere and friendly greeting; use guest names at every opportunity.
• Clear dirty dishes from vacant guest tables and promptly reset for incoming guests.
• Stock and maintain service stations; perform side work whenever possible to ensure proper items remain available during service.
• Possess thorough and up-to-date knowledge of all Bar and menu information in order to accurately answer guest inquiries.
• Assist Bartenders and Cocktail Servers with additional duties as requested.
• Other duties as required by manager.

Qualifications:

• Previous food & beverage experience is preferred, but not required.
• Must be able to stand for several hours at a time, have excellent verbal communication skills, and able to lift up to 15 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Ideal candidate is someone friendly and outgoing who can work well both as part of a team and autonomously. Must be able to provide fast and courteous service while maintaining luxury standards.
• Valid TIPS certification required, or must be obtained within 45 days of hire.
• Must have flexible availability and be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
