Overview

The national offices of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), A Corporation (A Corp) PC(USA), based in Louisville Kentucky, serve with mid-councils, congregations, worshipping communities, and partner organizations to carry forth the mission of Jesus Christ. Approximately 400 individuals, diverse in race, age, gender, sexual orientation, faith, skills, and more, come together as colleagues to work for a world where justice reigns, peace prevails, and God's love extends to all people. This community comprises the staff of several national entities: the Interim Unified Agency, Presbyterian Investment and Loan Corporation, the Presbyterian Publishing Corporation, Presbyterian Women, and the Administrative Services Group.

Stony Point Center, owned and operated by PC(USA) for over 40 years, is located in the scenic Hudson River Valley, 45 minutes northwest of New York City in beautiful upstate New York. It rests on 30 acres of nature, gardens and farmland with a meditation space, labyrinth and art space to help guests explore faith, creativity, community and leadership building.

Basic Commitment: This position calls for a commitment to the mission of the PC(USA) as noted in its theological confessions, the Book of Order, and the actions of the General Assembly.

Position Purpose: Assist guest group organizers in planning, reserving, and executing retreats at SPC. Communicate guest group needs to rest of SPC staff in a timely and clear manner.

Position Roles and Responsibilities (list in order of priority):

Serve as primary reservations specialist when groups are ready to book.

Supervise the Reservations team

Create accurate contracts and serve as the final set of eyes on each one before it goes out for signatures.

Track sales and meet monthly sales goals.

Support front desk staff when needed to ensure smooth check-in and check-out with guest groups.

Keep accurate guest group communication records (through contact log) to ensure all staff are on the same page.

Be kind, but firm when group leaders ask for exceptions to SPC booking policies: For grant exceptions, use judgment based on Stony Point Center guidelines, values, and mission.

Ensure phone calls and emails are returned/answered promptly and with accurate information.

Track guest group planning progress to help them have a successful experience.

Greet group planners upon arrival (when possible) to welcome them and reiterate agreed-upon details.

Interact with guests and staff to present Stony Point Center in a positive and hospitable way.

Continue to improve the guest group planning experience by addressing matters that could be handled more smoothly.

Hand the Guest group information over to the Guest Services Manager in a timely manner to make a smooth arrival for guests.

Other duties as assigned by the Associate Director and Directors.

Essential Position Requirements:

Minimum of high school diploma (or equivalent), associate or bachelor's degree preferred

5+ years' experience in a similar position

Demonstrated computer skillsespecially word and excel

Must be well-spoken, as well as sensitive to guest & staff needs.

Able to understand, create and execute effective plans.

Outgoing, friendly.

Great attention to detail.

Ability to be flexible and stay calm during busy times.

Works well with others.

Hours may include some weekends and evenings.
