SUMMARY
Perform janitorial cleaning of building work areas, equipment, and fixture surfaces. Clean and maintain factory work areas, washrooms, and the premises of offices, commercial buildings, or other establishments in an orderly condition.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform janitorial duties by using only approved cleaning products.
- Perform cleaning of all areas of the building as directed.
- Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, mirrors, and fixtures, using both step and extension ladders.
- Dust furniture and fixtures.
- Polish metal fixtures and trimmings.
- Clean lavatories, showers and restroom areas.
- Restock supplies.
- Remove trash, recycling and other refuse daily and prepare bins for weekly pick-up.
- Sweep and/or vacuum assigned building work areas.
- Shampoo carpets.
- Mop and/or scrub floor surfaces.
- Polish and/or wax floor areas.
- Complete non-routine cleaning according to specified work requests.
- Handle emergency cleaning and upkeep requests.
- Perform grounds work to include weeding, adding/removing mulch, and picking up debris.
- Manage routine upkeep of exterior areas, green spaces and parking areas.
- Load and unload supplies using dollies or handcarts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Must have a minimum of one (1) year of experience in building janitorial services.
- Must have basic reading and writing skills.
- Must be proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
- Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks.

WORK SCHEDULE
Part-time, less than 20 hours per week. May be required to work overtime hours as needed to complete assignment or project.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is primarily performed in an office setting and/or building. Employee may be exposed to sharp objects and may be exposed to some heat, loud noise, chemicals, lead, and vibration. Katmai strictly adheres to the Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHA) regulations. Use of personal protective equipment is mandatory if applicable. Employee will be exposed to a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities and abilities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Position requires the ability to bend, reach, stretch, push, pull and stand for extended periods; lift heavy objects, operate medium weight cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, etc., moving equipment, supplies, and furniture, using hands/fingers, handling, reaching with hands and arms, talking, hearing; walking or standing for extended periods, and occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds. - Pay: $20.11 per hour.
