SUMMARY
The Server plays a vital role in delivering The Roof Restaurants upscale dining experience. This position is responsible for providing attentive, knowledgeable, and personalized service to guests while ensuring a smooth flow of service throughout the dining room. Servers must have a genuine passion for creating exceptional guest experiences and are expected to uphold the highest standards of hospitality. They will anticipate guest needs, communicate effectively with both guests and team members, and always maintain a professional presence. The ideal candidate has strong interpersonal skills, upscale dining or upscale service experience, and is comfortable with creating a comforting and inviting environment.
JOB ENVIRONMENT
Primarily works indoors in a high-volume, upscale dining restaurant environment. Requires extended periods of standing and walking, frequent guest interaction, and the ability to multitask under pressure. Must be comfortable working evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical demands include carrying trays, bending, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
SKILLS, EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years of previous serving experience, preferably in upscale dining or upscale restaurants
Strong knowledge of upscale food service standards
Ability to provide personalized service and anticipate guest needs
Excellent communication, teamwork, and conflict resolution skills
Strong attention to detail, time management, and multitasking abilities
Professional demeanor with a commitment to hospitality and guest satisfaction
Must be punctual, reliable, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Greet guests promptly, professionally, and warmly; establish rapport and set the tone for a memorable dining experience
Guide guests through the menu with strong product knowledge, offering thoughtful recommendations and upselling when appropriate
Accurately take orders, input them into the POS system, and ensure timely delivery of food and beverages
Monitor tables for guest satisfaction, respond quickly to requests, and resolve concerns with professionalism and urgency
Collaborate with runners, bussers, and kitchen staff to ensure seamless and efficient service
Maintain clean and organized sections, side stations, and service areas throughout the shift
Understands and embraces our workplace culture, works as a team player, and follows all company policies
Assist with special dining experiences, private events, and large parties as needed
COMPENSATION
$2.13/hour + tips (Utah tipped minimum wage). Top servers can earn up to $35 - $50/hour depending on shift availability, guest volumes, and individual performance . This range is inclusive of multiple job levels. Salary to be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to evaluation of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant along with internal equity and alignment with market data.
OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS
May be required to work outside of regular business hours, including weekends, early mornings, and holidays, to accommodate business needs
Takes on additional duties as required or assigned by management
