Position Summary:
The Maitre d plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and exceptional operation of the restaurant. Their primary responsibilities include greeting guests, seating them and taking care of their needs during their dining experience. They will also manage the reservation book and help maximize the seating for each shift.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests with a welcoming smile in a professional manner.
  • Manage the restaurants reservations and seating arrangements, ensuring efficient table allocation, and managing reservation schedules.
  • Accommodate VIP guests, special occasions, and large parties with careful attention.
  • Ensure tables are set according to the restaurants standards and accommodate the number of guests at a party.
  • Train and mentor staff in guests service standards and restaurant etiquette.
  • Coordinate with staff to ensure smooth flow of service & minimal wait times.
  • Build and maintain a positive relationship with regular customers, addressing their special needs and preferences.
  • Proactively address issues that may arise during service, such as seating conflicts, special requests, or service delays.
  • Have extensive knowledge of the restaurants menu & wine list to make recommendations to guests.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for an extended period.
  • May be required to lift trays of food or drinks up to 20 lbs.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.

Skills / Experience

  • Three (3) years previous experience in a high-end or high-volume restaurant.
  • Excellent listener and communicator.
  • Ability to focus on guest interaction and multitask.
  • Team player and able to anticipate others needs.
  • Knowledge of seating management systems (preferred but not required).
  • Experience with answering phones in a reservation system.
  • Positive Attitude.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays when required.
Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly ($23.00)
