Ballyhoo Hospitality Group i s seeking an energetic, hospitality focused Server to join our team at Zenzi Den in Glenview. Glenview is a beautiful, modern town that is easily accessible from the city via a quick train ride or a short commute off I-94.

Concept Overview: Tucked into downtown Glenview, Zenzi Den is Ballyhoo Hospitalitys newest concept, arriving Spring 2026. The space blends Japanese-inspired comfort with a buzzy, come-as-you-are energy, layered with natural textures and intentional design. Thoughtfully sourced meats, seafood, and vegetables hit the robata grill, where live fire does what it does best, deep flavor, real soul. Whether youre settling in for a low-key dinner or gathering the crew, Zenzi Den brings Ballyhoos signature feel-good dining and genuinely warm hospitality to the table.

Server Job Summary: As the primary point of contact for guest interactions in the dining room, the Server
is responsible for selling & serving food & beverages using their knowledge, hospitality and
service skills. Must be pleasant, conscientious and professional with excellent knowledge of
food & alcoholic beverage selections. Must be comfortable suggesting food & wine pairings,
craft beers, and aperitifs and familiar with local beverage products. Must be able to operate
effectively as part of a team, communicate clearly, ensure smooth service operations and
provide consistent, pleasant, quality service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet and seat guests promptly and professionally.
  • Guide guests through their dining experience with knowledge and hospitality focus.
  • Take and submit food and beverage orders through a point of sale system - Toast.
  • Communicate dietary restrictions, allergies, and special requests to the kitchen and bar.
  • Deliver food and beverages accurately and ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with service staff to clear and reset tables efficiently.
  • Manage guest financial transactions and verify the accuracy of daily sales and payment reconciliation.
  • Assist with cleaning and maintaining the dining area and other restaurant tasks as needed.
  • Participate in Pre-Shift meetings and stay informed about menu items.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of dining experience preferred.
  • Maintain a BASSET and ServSafe Food Handlers Certification.
  • Extensive knowledge of food and beverage preparation and handling.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with Point of Sale systems (Toast preferred).
  • Must be able to work Weekends, Evenings and Holidays
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and carry trays of food weighing up to 25 pounds.
