TITLE: Cafeteria Worker II, Team Lead (0.75 FTE, School Year) - King Middle School

POSITION OVERVIEW:

This part-time Cafeteria Worker II Team Lead position is based at King Middle School with a tentative schedule of 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m (30 hours per week, 0.75 FTE). Work hours can fluctuate depending on student lunch schedule and other variable needs, so flexibility will be required to meet the current and future needs of the Food Service Department.

In addition to all CWII responsibilities this position is also responsible for King Middle School Food Service ordering all food and non-food supplies, provide monthly inventory, perform all required site monitoring, supervise King Middle School Food Service staff and operations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Sufficiently good physical condition with the ability to work long hours will standing
• Ability to complete paperwork and operate a computerized point-of-sale system
• Ability to assist with training
• Strong math skills
• Familiarity with proper food safety procedures and food preparation, including maintaining personal hygiene, washing and slicing fruit and vegetables, proper food temperatures, avoiding cross-contamination, packaging food to maintain food quality, displaying food attractively, keeping surfaces and work area clean, and washing dishes
• Ability to follow detailed directions and perform tasks independently after learned
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with co-workers and students
• Ability to lift at least 30 lbs

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Able to pass ServSafe certification within 6 months of hire and maintain throughout employment
• [Preferred] At least 2 years of experience in food preparation

CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

EMPLOYMENT DETAILS:

• Schedule: School Year, Part Time (0.75 FTE)
• Assignment: Permanent
• Shift: Monday-Friday 6:30 AM-12:30 PM
• Contract: Part of BASE union (see 2023-2026 CBA here )
• Wage: TBD as contract is under negotiations (25-26 range was $20.61$26.62)
• Overtime: Eligible for overtime
