Public Works is seeking to fill one vacant Maintenance Engineer II/HVAC position. This is a fast paced, supervisory role requiring strong leadership, personnel management, and problem solving skills. The selected candidate will perform and oversee projects relating to all phases of heating and air conditioning systems in municipal buildings and facilities. This position also requires budget and project management skills, effective communication, and solid administrative skills.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Oversees the daily activities of the HVAC Maintenance Engineer I's and HVAC Technicians, offering guidance, training, and work direction as needed.
- Determine scope of work for HVAC repairs and renovation projects and act as the primary point of contact and project manager to ensure completion of projects within scheduled timeframe and within budget.
- Assist Public Works Engineers with the development and project management oversight of capital improvement projects (CIP).
- Work closely with contractors and vendors to provide direction and project management and act as primary point of contact for energy services companies (ESCO) projects as well as building automation systems optimization projects.
- Program, troubleshoot, commission and repair building automation systems; make recommendations for system upgrades; and replace or recalibrate defective BAS components.
- Provide detailed trending analysis reports for BAS systems using the existing building automation operating systems that currently consist of; Siemens Desigo, Trane SC+ & Ensemble, Johnson Controls Metasys, Tridium Niagara and Automated Logic programs.
- Use computer software programs to proficiently develop reports relating to project scheduling, leave approval and timesheet submission, manpower reports, budget, performance evaluations, and facility assessments.
- Review mechanical plans, drawings and specifications for HVAC renovation and repair projects and provide recommendations for any changes, additions, or alterations.
- Establish and maintain new water treatment program for HVAC systems, to include: closed loops, open loops, boiler water & feed water.
- Manage HVAC and building automation service contracts.
- Make recommendations to the HVAC Building Systems Engineer on leave approval for HVAC division employees.
