We are now hiring for full-time, part-time DISHWASHERS

Location: Genesis House; 40 10th Avenue, Manhattan, NY 10014

Schedule: Must have open availability. Details provided upon interview.

Requirement: Prior experience in a hotel or restaurant setting preferred.

Genesis House:

Since 2021, Genesis House has served as the cultural outpost of Genesis Motors America. The Restaurant at Genesis House offers modern Korean fine dining in a refined yet accessible environment, open to the public Tuesdays through Sundays for Lunch, Dinner, and Afternoon Tea.

Under the direction of Executive Chef Mincheol Shin formerly of Kwonsooksoo and Jua we are seeking dedicated individuals who value professionalism, cleanliness, and teamwork in a high-performance kitchen.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Dishwasher Part time or Full time to join our back-of-house team. The Dishwasher plays a critical role in maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen by ensuring all dishes, utensils, and equipment are properly washed, sanitized, and organized.

Key Responsibilities:

Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans using dish machines or by hand

Sanitize and store all cleaned items properly

Maintain cleanliness and organization of dish station and kitchen work areas

Dispose of trash and recycling; sweep, mop, and assist in general cleaning

Report equipment issues or supply needs to the kitchen management team

Support other kitchen duties as assigned

Follow all food safety and sanitation standards

Assist with basic prep tasks such as washing or peeling produce as needed

Receive deliveries and organize items in designated storage areas

Qualifications:

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks

Strong work ethic and attention to detail

Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset

Previous experience in a restaurant or hotel setting preferred

Working Conditions:

Morning and Evening, weekend, and holiday availability may be required

Hot, humid, and fast-moving kitchen environment

Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs and perform tasks that require standing, reaching, and bending

Job Summary

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules.
  • Serves meals or prepares for delivery by using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, ensuring that food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty. Tastes all prepared food items.
  • Uses established ticket collection procedures during service. Responsible for records from area worked during service periods.
  • Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Stores or discards excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures.
  • Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat. Ensures food and supply items are stored per standards.
  • Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed.
  • Assists in production planning, record keeping and reporting as required.
  • Assists in the ordering and receiving of all food and supplies as required.
  • Reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
  • Attends in-service and safety meetings.
  • Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers.
  • Performs job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly ($16.50 - $18.00)
