MHC has an immediate full-time opening (Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm) for a Custodian---statewide within the Waterbury area. This position will be responsible for maintaining building cleanliness and various utilities systems and services through the state. Aside from Waterbury, this position will also serve various MHC program locations in Stamford, Bridgeport, Danbury, Torrington, West Hartford, and Farmington locations.
Starting Salary: $18.80 per hour. MHC offers a competitive benefit package which includes:

The Custodian responsibilities include:
- Completes and maintains the cleanliness and orderliness of program buildings and facilities, performing tasks like, but not limited to: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning restrooms, emptying trash receptacles, and ensuring grounds areas are clean and orderly.
- Routine and consistent ability to travel statewide to complete daily cleaning/maintenance tasks.
- Required to transport cleaning equipment and supplies (with a weight between approx. 5 to 30 pounds), and/or other cleaning/maintenance materials in personal vehicle locally and within the state to MHC residential sites.
- Managing cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Participate in larger deep cleaning of various locations as needed in collaboration with the facilities team.
- Performance of miscellaneous duties inherent to the job and other tasks as assigned.
- Report safety and quality issues/problems to management.
- Performance of routine maintenance and minor repairs.
- Comply with company and departmental policies and procedures.
- Willing and able to drive a personal vehicle locally and within the state.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Experience/Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience in the cleaning/maintenance of multiple buildings and multiple locations required.
- Knowledge of mental health or human services settings preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid drivers license, auto insurance, and registration.
