The Rutgers Division of Intercollegiate Athletics sponsors 24 intercollegiate sports, comprised of 14 women's and 10 men's programs, that compete at the Division I level. The Scarlet Knights are members of the prestigious Big Ten Conference, the nation's premier academic and athletic conference, after officially joining the league on July 1, 2014. Known as "The Birthplace of College Football, Rutgers hosted Princeton on Nov. 6, 1869 in the first intercollegiate football game, with RU earning a 6-4 victory.

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Custodian - Athletics - NB for Athletics Events - Operations.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Cleans, dusts, strips, scrubs, waxes, and buffs floors, rooms, toilets, offices, and all interiors of buildings.
- Removes waste materials; periodically shampoos carpeting and washes windows.
- Performs general maintenance of grounds and performs snow removal operations as assigned.
- Inspects buildings for custodial and general physical security.
- Checks interior and exterior lighting to insure proper maintenance and repair.
- Issues and delivers supplies and furniture to locations as required.
- Performs set-ups as needed for events and aids in basket, bleacher set-ups.
- Detects faulty operation of equipment and reports questionable conditions to supervisor.
- Performs related duties as required.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
- No experience required.
- Valid driver's license and two (2) years of driving experience.
Certifications/Licenses
- A valid driver's license would be required for this position; Use of personal vehicle in order to travel for business demands.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Will be required to successfully complete the Rutgers Defensive Driving Course.
Preferred Qualifications Equipment Utilized Physical Demands and Work Environment Special Conditions
- This position is considered an essential employee. This designation means that in the event that the university makes a Level 1, 4 or 5 Adverse Weather or Emergency Curtailment of Operations declaration this position is required, as directed by a supervisor, to report to work and/or remain at work.
- The shift is 6am-2:30pm, Monday-Friday, but this position will be required to work nights and weekends.
- Clean Driving Record.
