Job DetailsMajor Food Group is hiring experienced Prep Cooks to join our team at Torrisi !
Located in the historic Puck Building, Torrisi , a love letter to Little Italy, proudly presents an Italian-American restaurant with an extensive wine program, a New York-Italian cocktail bar and a luxe deli. Chef Rich Torrisi presides over an open kitchen and presents showstopping dishes, with many prepared or finished tableside to engender warm and welcoming hospitality.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Assist the head chef by chopping vegetables and washing food items
- Ensure kitchen equipment and appliances are ready for use
- Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment at all times
- Prepare salads, breads, salad dressings and sauces
- Gather food ingredients from the refrigerator or freezer as required by the chef
- Ensure food is stored away properly when not in use
- Study the menu and prepare ingredients ahead of schedule
- Learn about the cooking methods and techniques employed in the kitchen
REQUIREMENTS :
- Culinary diploma or equivalent in experience preferred
- Team-orientated and positive attitude
- Strong communication skills a must
Compensation: $20-$24 hourly based on experience
